Being able to check it out for "FREE" obviously helps; it’s like the "Money-Back-Guarantee". However, everything we write – be it on a Website or a Salespage – should answer the above conscious or subconscious questions.
Here’s an idea: when surfing and seeing all those websites… look at them with the 3 above questions in mind and see whether they are being answered – fast and easy. It will be an interesting exercise… and perhaps it makes you wonder why a possibly most beautifully designed website of your’s doesn’t bring the results you would expect.
Re-think whether you bombard your visitors with information – or whether you create empathy and identification.
Bear in mind that people look and listen only partially in most cases as they are always busy with other things. They surf while chatting to some friends, they look at your website while listening to the CNN headlines, they watch your presentation while the TV runs in the background and the kids come home from school… so if you just throw information at them you expect them to THINK and figure out the BENEFITS – well, it doesn’t work – at least not for the majority.
Information tells – and is fast forgotten… WHO CARES?
However: BENEFITS SELL! They catch peoples’ attention fast and if the timing is right and you hit their URGENT NEED RIGHT NOW – BINGO!
